After working on recording some sounds earlier in the week we have both spent the afternoon creating the audio for our fourth flashback, in addition to this we rectified some issues with our sequence which meant that some shots didn't transition well between each shot. For example, some of the shots went on for too long, so we cut them down to create a faster pace, thus reflecting the tone of the flashback.
For the audio, we needed to add a foley sound of the ringtone for the phone when Laura rings Sam. We used Garageband for this, however, we had a problem. During filming the phone was on loud and so in editing we had to combat the foley sound with the natural audio in the footage. We would have kept the natural sound, however as we were cutting footage it meant that the ringtone had no set amount of time between sounds. Furthermore, there was a cutting transition where the sound of the rigntone had not stopped ringing, so it cut off from the ringtone in one shot, then in the next the rigntone was still there but in a different place in the audio. To deal with this, we decided we would get a foley of the sound so that we could put that with the original sound. There is a point where this is evident, so we tried to adjust the volume levels as much as we we could to try to dilute the original sound. See above for the final sequence.
